Dr Everitt

Dr Ian Everitt graduated with Honours from Monash University in Melbourne with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Diploma in Anatomy.

He then combined both emergency and paediatric training over 12 years with an interest in paediatric resuscitation. He was admitted as a fellow of The Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics) becoming the first dual qualified Emergency Physician and Paediatric Emergency Medicine physician by fellowship training in Australia.

Whilst working as an Emergency Fellow he commenced working on the RCH Melbourne Emergency Guidelines. In 2006 he co-edited the first Australasian textbook of Paediatric Emergency Medicine.

After 20 years in emergency medicine he started work in general paediatrics to provide ongoing care of children at Princess Margaret and Fremantle hospitals. During this time he pursued volunteer work in Sudan (seeing the local mothers “5 S’ing” their babies), Vietnam, New Guinea and Solomon Islands. He worked at Stanford University Faculty of Medicine and also had a period of exposure to remote indigenous paediatrics in the Kimberley.

Dr Everitt now works at Glengarry Private Hospital as a Consultant Paediatrician in neonatal care where he has interest in newborn resuscitation / transition and has his private general paediatric practice located in Duncraig opposite Glengarry Private Hospital.
